HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-05-1982 MINUTES OF OCOEE CITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING HELD JANUARY 5, 1982 PRESENT: Mayor Freeman; Commissioners Hager, Lyle, Stinnett, Whitehead; City Attorney Rhodes; City Manager Vignetti; Deputy Clerk Grafton ABSENT: None CALL TO ORDER Mayor Freeman called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and then led those present in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. 15 DECEMBER 81 MINUTES APPROVED Upon a motion by Comm. Stinnett and second by Comm. Whitehead, minutes of the regular meeting held December 15, 1981 were unanimously approved as read. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET ORDINANCE: ANNEXATION HELLER PROPERTY-1ST READING Upon a motion by Comm. Whitehead and second by Comm. Stinnett and unanimous vote in favor, City Manager Vignetti read by title only the first reading of the ordinance annexing the Heller property south of Hwy 50. Public Hearing is scheduled for January 19, 1982. ORDINANCE: ZONING HELLER PROPERTY-1ST READING Upon a motion by Comm. Hager and second by Comm. Lyle and unanimous vote in favor, City Manager Vignetti read by title only the first reading of the ordinance zoning 6.14 acres of the Heller property C3 and 81 acres R3. Public Hearing is scheduled for January 19, 1982. ....,..... MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITY IN PIONEER KEY PARK #2 ACCEPTED Comm. Stinnett moved to assume maintenance responsibility for Pioneer Key Park #2. Comm. Whitehead seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. DRAINAGE DITCH - 576 KISSIMMEE AVE.- RICHARD DOSS Mr. Richard Doss explained that some years ago he gave land for a road but County put road and ditch in wrong place. Mr. Doss requests City put ditch in right place. Comm. Stinnett moved to authorize City Manager Vignetti to procede with correcting problem. Comm. Whitehead seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. HARBOUR HEIGHTS DEVELOPMENT REQUESTS TIME EXTENSION Mr. Joseph Pirotta, representing Harbour Heights Development, advised that their construction was delayed because of economic conditions and requested an extension. Upon City Attorney Rhodes suggestion, Comm. Lyle moved that the City permanently approve RIAA zoning as originally requested. Comm. Hager seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. RECREATION PARK-JOHN TIMBES Mr. John Timbes recommended getting a dozier and removing 3 rows of trees and moving the dirt at recreation park instead of hauling dirt in. Comm. Whitehead moved to table discussion til next meeting to check over the area. Comm. Stinnett seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. CITY COMMISSION MINUTES JANUARY 5, 1982 PAGE 2 MULTI-PERIL AND AUTO LIABILITY INSURANCE - KEN ENLOW Mr. Ken Enlow, Brown and Brown, Inc., advised that of the companies he has received bids from (present company, North America, Travelers), ~. most are over $24,000; but Travelers bid is $20,500 and he recommends that company. Comm. Lyle moved to award Multi-Peril and Auto Liability Insurance to Travelers Insurance Company. Comm. Whitehead seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. REPORTS/INFORMATION City Manager Vignetti advised the property tax exemption representative will be at Orange County Services Building January 14 and 28 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. City Engineer Walter Kuhrt advised that Don Boyette, Kissimmee owns property in Lake Meadows and has written DER officials petitioning for a hearing. Mr. Vignetti expressed appreciation on behalf of all city employees for the time off and parties during Christmas season. ADJOU.RNMENT Upon a motion by Comm. Lyle and second by Comm.
