HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-19-1980MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD AUGUST 19, 1980 Mayor Freeman called the meeting to order at 7:31 P.M. and the meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present were Comm. Hager, Lyle, Stinnett & Whitehead; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann. 5 AUGUST 80 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Minutes of the 5 August 80 Commission meeting were read. Comm. Stinnett moved to accept the minutes as read, seconded Comm.Whitehead. Unanimous. PLANNING & ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET CONTINUATION OF DISCUSSION REGARDING THE DOG PROBLEM Mayor Freeman introduced County Comm. Dick Fischer and thanked him for his prompt attention to the animal situation. Comm.Fischer introduced Rob Lee of the County Animal Control office. Mr. Lee explained the policies of Animal Control and answered questions from the audience. FINAL APPROVAL OF SUB - DIVISION PLANS FOR PHASE I OF "THE MEADOWS" AND PHASE I OF " OCOEE GARDEN VILLAS" - WALTER KUHRT Mr. Kuhrt briefed council on the final engineering plans of Phase I of "The Meadows" and Phase I of "Ocoee Garden Villas ". City Manager recommended approval of both. Comm. Stinnett moved to grant final approval of Phase I of "The Meadows" and Phase I of "Ocoee Garden Villas ", seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. APPROVAL TO SIGN PLAT OF PHASE I OF "THE MEADOWS Comm. Whitehead moved to approve the signing of the plat for Phase I of "The Meadows ", seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. REQUEST TO PRUCHASE AD - W.O. HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PROGRAM City Manger explained that W.O. High School had requested that the City purchase an ad in their football program for $75. Comm.Stinnett moved to purchase the ad, seconded Comm. Hager. Unanimous. FY 80 181 TENTATIVE BUDGET FAMILIARIZATION - CITY MANAGER City Manager familiarized council with the tentative budget and recommened setting the city tax roll back rate millage at 3.593 mills and the city tax proposed rate millage at 3.593 mills. Comm. Stinnett moved to accept the City Managers recommendation and set the city tax roll back rate millage at 3.593 mills, seconded Comm.Whitehead. Unanimous. Comm. Lyle moved to accept the City Managers recommendation and set the city tax proposed rate millage at 3.593 mills, seconded Comm. Hager.Unanimous. Comm. Stinnett moved to hold a Public Hearing on 26 Sept.80 at 5 :01P.M. to adopt the proposed millage rate and the Tentative FY 80181 Budget,seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
