HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-16-1980MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD 16 DECEMBER 80 Mayor Freeman called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present were Comm. Lyle, Hager, Stinnett & Whitehead; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann. 2 DECEMBER 80 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Minutes of the 2 December 80 Commission Meeting were read. Comm.Whitehead moved to accept the minutes as read, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. PLANNING & ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET ORDINANCE - ANNEXATION -2ND READING - PUBLIC HEARING -LOTS 13,14 &15 SOUTH SPRING - DALE SUB DIVISION Comm. Hager moved that title only of the ordinance be read, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. City Manager read ordinance by title only. No one wished to speak for or against the adoption of the ordinance. Comm. Stinnett moved to adopt the ordinance, seconded Comm. Hager. Unanimous. AMMENDMENT TO INDIAN LAKES COMMITMENT AGREEMENT REGARDING RAILROAD CROSSING ON A.D. MIMS ROAD Comm. Stinnett moved to incorporate the Amended Indian Lakes Commitment Agreement into the original agreement, seconded Comm. Hager. Comm.Stinnett and Hager voted yea. Comm. Lyle & Whitehead voted nay. To break the tied vote Mayor Freeman voted yea. Motion carried. G ROUP HEALTH INSURANCE Neil Yoder of Blue Cross /Blue Shield explained the citys group health coverage and listened to complaints about the coverage. TRI CITY AIRPORT- HAROLD MAGUIRE In the absence of Mr. Maguire, Comm. Lyle briefed council on the last Tri City Airport meeting. RETENTION OF ROBERTO GUEDES, ARCHITECT Comm. Lyle moved to retain architect, Roberto Guedes to establish guide lines and preliminary study for the construction of the proposed community center at a cost not to exceed $2,000., seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. PLAT APPROVAL -THE MEADOWS UNIT 2,3,4, & 5 Comm. Stinnett moved to approve the plat for units 2,3,4 &5 of The Meadows, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. FY 79180 AUDIT REPORT Al Sampey, C.P.A. briefed council on Fy 79180 Audit report. Comm. Lyle moved to pay the auditors $4,000 for General Fund and $2,000 for Water System Fund, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. PAGE TWO CITY COMMISSION MEETING 12/16/80 REPORTS /INFORMATION Comm. Whitehead moved to pay J.B. Bernard $12,087 from General Fund Acct # 513.49, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. City Manager reported that Federal Revenue Sharing had been extended for three (3) years. City Manager stated that the Census Bureau preliminary population estimate was 7,746. City Manager stated that the sanitation crew would be off on Christmas Day and New Years Day and that Thursday pick ups would be picked up on Wednesday and what doesn't get picked up on Wednesday will be picked up on Friday. It was moved by Comm. Stinnett and seconded by Comm. Whitehead that the recreational assessment for Pioneer Key Trailer Parks be established at $250.00 per lot. The vote was unanimous.
