HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-03-1981 MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD 3 FEBRUARY 81 Mayor Freeman called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the meeting was opened with a special prayer for John Boyd and his family by Comm. Hager, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present were Comm. Lyle; Hager, Stinnett & Whitehead; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann. 20 JANUARY 81 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES The commission meeting minutes of 20 January 81 were read. Comm. Hager moved to approve the minutes as read, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. PLANNING & ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET ORDINANCE-ANNEXATION-GOODMAN PROPERTY-80 ACRES-1ST READING Comm. Stinnett moved that title only of the ordinance be read, seconded Comm. Hager. Unanimous. City Manager read ordinance by title only. Public Hearing and second reading of the ordinance will be held 3 March 81. ORDINANCE-ZONING-GOODMAN PROPERTY-80 ACRES-1ST READING(TO BE ZONED Rl) Comm. Stinnett moved that title only of the ordinance be read, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. City Manager read ordinance by title only. Public Hearing and seconded reading of the ordinance will be held 3 March 81. RESOLUTION-APPROVING MERGER OF TELEPROMPTER TV WITH WESTINGHOUSE BROADCASTING CORP.-JAY DOUB Mr. Doub explained the merger of Teleprompter TV with Westinghouse Broad- casting Corp. and requested that the Resolution be adopted. City Manager read the Resolution in its entirety. Comm. Lyle moved to adopt the Resolution seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. ANNEXATION REQUEST-JIM SELLEN-4~ ACRES SOUTH OF A.D. MIMS ROAD Mr. Sellen of Glatting, Lopez & Sellen, Inc., representing Fred Smith requested that the 4~ acres South of A.D. Mims Road be annexed for residential construction purposes. Council suggested that Mr. Sellen obtain soil test of the area before any action is taken on this request. COUNTY FIVE (5) YEAR ROAD PROGRAM Comm. Stinnett moved to table, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. PRELIMINARY PLAT APPROVAL-PIONEER KEY PARK #l-OLD RECREATION AREA Comm. Stinnett moved to approve the plat, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous REPORTS/INFORMATION City Manager reported that there will be a Work Session, 5 Feb. 81 with Roberto Guedes at 7:30 P.M. CITY COMMISSION MEETING FEBRUARY 3, 1981 rAGE TWO REPORTS/INFORMATION CONTINUED mi<-.......,;. City Manager reported that there will be a Proposed Use Hearing for input from citizens on the use of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds, 10 Feb.8l, 7:30P.M Comm. Stinnett moved to pay Burroughs Copr. $13,950 from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds for the purchase of a mini-computer, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 8:25 P.M. MAYOR ATTEST: ~Q~ CIT _CLERK !ifJ!f,,-4 PROPOSED USE HEARING OF FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS 10 FEBRUARY 81 City Manager, John Vignetti stated that the City would receive approximately $79,000.00 this Fiscal Year in Federal Revenue Sharing Funds and requested input for the expenditure of these funds from those present. The citizens present suggested the funds be used for the following: (1) $25,000 for recreation purposes for the entire city. (2) Complete the phases of the dock project. (3) Construct sidewalks on the South side of White Road. There were six citizens present, three from the Sleepy Harbour area and three from the Prima vista area. Meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M. City Clerk c~~ MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF OCOEE HELD 10 FEBRUARY 81 Mayor Freeman called the Special Meeting to order at 7:10 P.M. Present were Comm. Lyle, Stinnett, Whitehead & Hager; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann. Mayor Freeman explained that this Special Meeting was called to authorize the City Manager to advertise for an architectural firm for the new community building. City Manager gave a brief explanation of the advertisement and requested that each commissioner read it. Comm. Lyle moved to construct the community building in phases. Motion died for lack of a second. Comm. Hager moved to proceed with the advertisement, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 7:15 P.M. MAYOR ATTEST: ~().~~ CIT CLERK ..,",riII
