HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-17-1981 MINUTES OF THE OCOEE CITY COMMISSION MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 17, 1981 Mayor Freeman called the regular meeting of Ocoee City Commission to order at 7:30 p.m. in commission chambers and led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance. Present were Commissioners Whitehead, Hager, Lyle; City Attorney Rhodes; City Manager Vignetti; Deputy Clerk Poling. Absent was Commissioner Stinnett 3 NOVEMBER 81 MINUTES APPROVED Motion was made by Comm. Whitehead, seconded by Comm. Hager to approve the 3 November 81 minutes as read. Vote was unanimous in favor. PLANNING & ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET 4 NOVEMBER 81 CANVASSING BOARD MEETING MINUTES Motion was made by Comm. Whitehead, seconded by Comm. Lyle to approve 4 November 81 Canvassing Board Meeting Minutes as read. Vote was unanimous in favor. RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING BINGO GAMES TO BE CONDUCTED IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER Resolution authorizing Bingo Games to be conducted in the Community Center was read by City Manager Vignetti. Motion was made by Comm. Lyle, seconded by Comm. Whitehead to adopt the resolution. Vote was unanimous in favor. WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - PHASE II Mr. Walter Kuhrt presented plans for Water Improvement Project Phase II. Motion was made by Comm. Lyle, seconded by Comm. Hager to give the City Manager authority to purchase a generator needed for the Water Plant. Vote was unanimous in favor. APPOINTMENTS - PLANNING & ZONING BOARD - Mr. Leroy Lahde & Mr. Richard Yount Motion was made by Comm. Whitehead, seconded by Comm. Hager to reappoint Mr. Leroy Lahde and Mr. Richard Yount to the Planning & Zoning Board. Vote was unanimous in favor. APPOINTMENTS: CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD Motion was made by Comm. Whitehead seconded by Comm. Hager to appoint Harry Bourdo, Don Tyndall and John Linebarier to the Code Enforcement Board. Vote was unanimous in favor. LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS PARADE-12 DECEMBER 81 Mr. Dave VanKuren expressed appreciation for a resolution made in his honour earlier in the year. He announced that the Lions Club Christmas Parade will be held at 2:00 p.m. December 12, 1981. The Grand Marshall is to be Kirby Grant and the theme is "Christmas Goes Western". Mr. VanKuren requested a donation of $300.00 to cover cost of transportation and prizes. Motion was made by Comm. Lyle, seconded by Comm. Hager to give $300.00 donation. Vote was unanimous in favor. City Commission Meeting November 17, 1981 Page 2 ~, COMMUNITY PARK Motion was made by Comm. Lyle, seconded by Comm. Hager to approve plans for Community Park. Vote was unanimous in favor. REPORTS/INFORMATION Motion was made by Comm. Whitehead, seconded by Comm. Hager to sell the '73 Plymouth for junk. Vote was unanimous in favor. Motion was made by Comm. Whitehead, seconded by Comm. Lyle to give City employees November 26 and 27 as Thanksgiving Holidays. Vote was unanimous in favor. The Commission authorized the City Manager to purchase magnetic signs for City Officials riding in the parade. Motion was made by Comm. Whitehead, seconded by Comm.
