HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-06-1982 MINUTES OF THE OCOEE CITY COMMISSION MEETING HELD APRIL 6, 1982 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Freeman called the regular meeting of Ocoee City Commission to order at 7:30 p.m. in commission chambers and led those present ~ in the Pledge of Allegiance. Present were Commissioners Hager, Stinnett, Whitehead; City Manager Vignetti; City Attorney Rhodes; and Deputy Clerk Veronee. Absent was Comm. Lyle. MARCH 16, 1982 MINUTES APPROVED Motion was made by Comm. Stinnett seconded by Comm. Whitehead to approve the March 16, 1982 minutes as read. Vote was unanimous. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET REQUEST TO RE-ZONE LOTS 4, 5 and 6 BLK D MARION PARK FROM RIA TO C-2 BEN GRIFFIN ~' Motion was made by Comm. Stinnett, seconded by Comm. Whitehead to t', ,i',Lv approve the request made by Mr. Griffin to re-zone lots 4, 5 and 6'~1~ Blk. D in Marion Park from RIA to C-2. Vote was unanimous. NEW BUSINESS REQUEST PERMISSION TO SELL BEER AT EXXON STATION SR 437 - DICK BROOKS ... Motion was made by Comm. Stinnett seconded by Comm. Whitehead to approve the request made by Mr. Brooks to sell beer at the Exxon station at SR 437. Vote was unanimous. WATER SERVICE REQUEST SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH ON WOFFORD RD. - REV. WAYNE NIEMEYER Rev. Niemeyer requested water service for the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Wofford Rd. Commission advised Rev. Niemeyer the Church would have to pay for and put in the pipe line under the City's supervision. REQUEST FOR PAYMENT OF $288.59 FOR DAMAGES TO MR. GRIFFIN'S CAR INCURRED AT OHIO ST. RAILROAD CROSSING Motion was made by Comm. Stinnett seconded by Comm. Hager to deny payment of $288.59 to Mr. Griffin for damages to his car incurred at Ohio St. railroad crossing. Vote was unanimous. RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITIES OF AMERICA - MR. JERRY FEINSTEIN Mr. Feinstein, representing RCA, requested subdivision acceptance for Ocoee Heights and Jordana Hills subdivision plus lots 1 through 8 and lots 43 through 48 in Michele Woods bordering Marlene Drive. Motion was made by Comm. Stinnett seconded by Comm. Whitehead to approve request providing the City receives a letter from RCA stating they will complete the subdivision named above. Mr. & Mrs. Dan Louree of 804 Nicole Blvd. in Jessica Manor; Mr. Mike Osinski and Mr. John O'Conner of Caballero Ct. in Twin Lake Manor 1st Addition complained of drainage problems. Mr. Feinstein, of RCA, advised the Commission that RCA will take care of the problems. REPORTS/INFORMATION Teleprompter Cable TV is being taken over by Westinghouse. City Manager Vignetti informed the City Commission that Kelton and Associates is performing a study for the City of Apopka regarding Double Taxation. City Manager informed the Commission we have the money to put in the traffic signal at Story & Geneva St. earlier than July 82. Commission requested City Manager to send a letter informing Judge Walter Komanski that the City will put the traffic signal in before July 82. Commission requested City Manager to send a letter to RCA stating the credit of payment of $20,000.00 for the 5% recreational assessment for the Forrest subdivision. Mayor Freeman briefed the Council on the status of the Tri City cities be reimbursed City Attorney Rhodes to making any .'.4 Airport. Mayor Freeman suggested the three for all expense incurred up to this point. recommended we look at this in detail prior commitments. Mr. Cliff Rhodes complained of trailors and cars parked near his home. No action was taken. Several residents of the Pioneer Key Park trailor parks appeared before the Commission regarding the high sewer rates. Mayor Freeman told residents that the Public Service Commission set the rates and he could do nothing about them. Mr. Smith Branch complained of Florida Telephone damaging sidewalks and leaving holes open for long periods of time. No action was taken. ADJOURNMENT Upon a motion by Comm.
