HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-04-1982 MINUTES OF OCOEE CITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING HELD 4 MAY 82 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Freeman called the regular meeting of the Ocoee City Commission to order at 7:30 p.m. in Commission Chambers and led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance. PRESENT: Mayor Freeman; Commissioners Hager, Lyle, Stinnett, Whitehead; C,ty Attorney Rhodes; City Manager Vignetti; Deputy Clerk Veronee ABSENT: None 20 APRIL 82 MINUTES APPROVED Motion was made by Comm. Whitehead seconded by Comm. Hager to approve the 20 April 82 minutes as read. Vote was unanimous. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET OLD BUSINESS ORDINANCE RE-ZONE LOTS 4, 5 & 6 BLK D MARION PARK RIA TO C2 - Public Hearing, 2nd and Final Reading Motion was made by Comm. Stinnett seconded by Comm. Lyle to read by title only the ordinance to re-zone lots 4, 5 & 6 Blk D, Marion Park from RIA to C2. Title was read by City Manager Vignetti. Motion was made by Comm. Stinnett seconded by Comm. Lyle to pass ordinance. Vote was unanimous. ~ NEW BUSINESS ORDINANCE RE-ZONE CHURCH OF GOD OF PROPHECY PROPERTY LOCATED AT ~RANKLIN/TAYLOR Rl TO C2 - 1ST READING Motion was made by Comm. Stinnett seconded by Comm. Hager to read by title only the ordinance to re-zone the Church of God of Prophecy property located at Franklin and Taylor Streets from Rl to C2. Vote was unanimous. Title was read by City Manager Vignetti. 2nd Reading and Public Hearing scheduled 18 May 82. APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - BRUCE BEATTY AND GLENN THOMAS TERMS EXPIRED 1 MAY 82 Motion was made by Comm. Lyle seconded by Comm. Stinnett to re- appoint Bruce Beatty and Glenn Thomas to The Board of Adjustment (terms expired 1 May 82). Vote was unanimous. RETIREMENT PLAN - MR. TONY GRECO Mr. Greco proposed a change in the Retirement Plan. Commission informed Mr. Greco the present Retirement Plan is still satisfactory. REPORTS/INFORMATION City Manager reported that the progress on the Well on Kissimmee Ave. is very good. Building Official Hurst informed the Commission that he was not .~ issuing permits to RCA on only those areas affected by the drainage problem. Mr. Hurst also informed the Commission that upon receipt of letters sent by Mr. Hurst to the residents ~..,~ CITY COMMISSION MINUTES MAY 4, 1982 PAGE 2 REPORTS/INFORMATION - (continued) verifying the residents approval for the contractor to go on their property so that the improvements can be completed, RCA will begin the work to resolve these problems. Mayor Freeman requested Deputy Clerk to send a letter to Mrs. Helen Thurlow informing her she is not eligible for the Over 65 Program due to the fact she has not been a resident of the city of Ocoee for 5 consecutive years. City Manager Vignetti informed the Commission the traffic signal to be put in at Story & Geneva Streets is right on schedule. Residents of North Durango were concerned about a big sand pile left by RCA during construction. City Manager Vignett~ informed the residents the City will dispose of the sand. Noting it was City Manager John Vignetti IS anniversary of employment 1 May 82, Mayor Freeman, on behalf of the Commissioners and the city employees, expressed appreciation and gratitude for the admirable 11 years of service as City Manager.
