Rodgers, Hager, Cook, and Lyle; City Attorney Rhodes; City Manager Vignetti; Deputy Clerk Poling. ABSENT: NONE CALL TO ORDER Mayor Freeman called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. in Commission Chambers and led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance. 1 FEBRUARY 83 MINUTES APPROVED Upon a motion by Comm. Rodgers and second by Comm. Cook, the minutes of the regular meeting held 1 February 83 were unanimously approved as read. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET COMMUNITY PARK FUNDING The Mayor informed the Commission that funding for the Community Park had been approved by the Orange County Commission and the pre-construction meeting would be held at 10 A.M. 16 February 83. ANNEXATION AND ZONING REQUEST An annexation and zoning request for 10 acres north of SR50 was made by Mr. Walter Sims. In Mr. Sims' absence, the City Manager pointed out the property in question and explained that Mr. Sims was requesting a zoning change to R-3. Motion was made by Comm. Rodgers, second by Comm. Cook to authorize annexation and zoning ordinances be drawn up. Vote was unanimous in favor. ITEM b - NEW BUSINESS - Request change in Harbour Heights Drainage plans was deleted from the agenda. DONATION REQUEST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF VIETNAM WAR MEMORIAL AT ORANGE COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER Upon a motion by Comm. Cook, second by Comm. Lyle the Commission unanimously voted to donate $500.00 toward the construction of the Vietnam War Memorial at Orange County Convention Center. REQUEST APPROVAL TO PAY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT $30,000 ACCT. #572.64A k ~ Motion was made by Comm. Hager, second by Comm. Lyle to approve payment of $30,000 to Community Development for the Community Park from Acct. #572.64A. Vote was unanimous in favor. City Commission Meeting 2/15/83 .... BLUFORD/MCKEY TRAFFIC SIGNAL REPORT City Manager Vignetti advised that negotiations are under way with DOT and a private firm to determine the feasibility of installing a traffic signal at the intersection of Bluford and McKey Streets. Also a traffic count will be done to help with this determination. Comm. Rodgers suggested that something be done to restrict heavy truck traffic on Bluford Ave. to local deliveries only. City Manager proposed and the Commission agreed to place signs to mark an alternate truck route. Signs to be worded "NO THRU TRUCK TRAFFIC - LOCAL DELIVERIES ONLY" . Mayor Freeman explained to the Commission that a proposal had been made regarding the possible tie-in of the City of Ocoee to the City of Winter Garden's Sewer System. And although this would help alleviate the problems facing the Industrial Park, it would also be an expensive step to take. The Commission took no definite action but subject is under advisement.
