HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-14-1983 Special Mtg. MINUTES OF THE OCOEE CITY COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING HELD JUNE 14, 1983 Upon a motion by Comm. Rodgers, seconded by Comm. Lyle a special meeting was called to order by Mayor Freeman at 8:45 P.M. in the commission chambers to determine whether or not the City of Ocoee will go into the sewer business. Waiver of Requirement of Notice was unanimously approved by all members of the City Commission. Members present were Mayor Freeman; Commissioners Lyle, Cook, Rodgers, Hager; City Attorney Rhodes; Mr. Burgess; City Manager Vignetti and Deputy Clerk Kirkdoffer. Motion was made by Comm. Rodgers, seconded by Comm. Cook for the City of Ocoee to go into the sewer business. Vote was Rodgers, Cook, Hager; yea. Lyle, nay. Motion carried. Motion was made by Comm. Rodgers, seconded by Comm. Cook to adjourn at 9:05 P.M. City Manager Vignetti informed the Commission a decision should be made to buy the property for the sewer plant. Motion was made by Comm. Rodgers, seconded by Comm. Cook to withdraw the motion for adjournment. Vote was unanimous in favor. Motion was made by Comm. Cook, seconded by Comm. Rodgers to put a $500.00 binder in escrow and offer a price of $340,000.00 to Mr. Roy B. White for 40 acres of land. Vote was Rodgers, Cook, Hager; yea. Lyle, nay. Motion carried. Motion was made by Comm. Cook, seconded by Comm. Rodgers to put a $500.00 binder in escrow and offer a price of $330,000.00 to Mr. Carl Julian for 30 acres of land. Vote was Rodgers, Cook, Hager; yea. Lyle, nay. Motion carried. Motion was made by Comm. Cook, seconded by Comm. Rodgers to adjourn at 9:44 P.M. ~k/ d~c~ MAYO ATTEST
