MINUTES OF OCOEE CITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING HELD 4 JANUARY 83
PRESENT: Mayor Freeman; Commissioners Lyle, Rodgers, Hager, Cook;
City Manager Vignetti; City Attorney Rhodes; Deputy Clerk Poling
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Freeman called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. in Commission
Chambers and led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
21 DECEMBER 82 MINUTES APPROVED
Motion was made by Comm. Rodgers, seconded by Comm. Cook to approve the
21 December 82 minutes as read. Vote was unanimous in favor.
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET
BOAT RACES ON STARKE LAKE - MR. EMMET WATSON
Mr. Emmet Watson of 705 Wurst Rd., Ocoee, requested permission to conduct
boat races on Starke Lake March 12 and 13 and for some of the participants
to camp in motorhomes by the lake. Mr. Watson assured the Commission that
the activities would not begin on Sunday until 1:00 P.M. and that all the
campers would be gone by Monday afternoon. Motion was made by Comm. Rodgers
seconded by Comm. Hager to permit the boat races. Vote was unanimous in
favor.
PHYSICIAN RECRUITING FOR OCOEE - MR. DUDLEY

Mr. Dudley, Administrator of West Orange Memorial Hospital, 707 Tangerine
Ct., Winter Garden, explained to the Commission that the West Orange
Health Care Foundation would help in recruiting physicians for the Ocoee
area. He requested that the Commission consider what type of incentives
the City would be willing to provide to new doctors. For example,
rent-free office or home for a certain amount of time. The Commission
will consider making a donation through the Health Care Foundation to
assist a physician moving into the area.
PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION FILING DATE
City Manager Vignetti reported that the Property Tax Exemption Filing
Date is January 13 from 1 to 4 P.M. at the branch courthouse.
Congratulations to Comm. Lyle who was appointed to the Community Development
Board.
Mr. Vignetti thanked the Commission on the employees behalf for the outstanding
support and time off for the holidays. He also announced that the party to
thank Florida Power Corp. for putting up the Christmas lights will be
held January 21, at the Navy Base.

Comm. Rodgers asked the Commission to consider lowering the rental rates on
the Community Center for residents.
City Attorney Rhodes advised that the City has the authority to place
special assessments on drainage projects if they choose to.
Mayor Freeman informed the Commission of a potential drainage problem
near Sobiks.
Motion was made by Comm. Rodgers, seconded by Comm. Cook to adjourn the
meeting at 8:55 P.M.
