RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 07
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA,
REQUESTING GOVERNOR BUSH TO SUPPORT THE
CITY OF OCOEE PROJECT FOR MAINE STREET-
RELIEVER FOR SR 50 AS PASSED BY THE
LEGISLATURE IN BILL 27E SECTION 6 ITEM 2486 PAGE
324; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, State Road 50 is one of the major access routes into the City of
Ocoee located in West Orange County and has become a heavily congested roadway; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee proposes a 1.5 mile, 4-lane facility which would
parallel State Road 50 and serve as a reliever for State Road 50 in the West Orange County area;
and
WHEREAS, a total of $4,249,090 is needed to complete the design and right-of-
way acquisition phases of this project; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Ocoee has $2,758,400 to
contribute towards completion of these phases; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee is seeking fInancial assistance from the State for a
portion of the money ($800,000) for these phases; and
WHEREAS, the project was included in the budget sent to The Honorable
Governor Bush for his approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1.
Authority. The City Commission of the City of Ocoee
has the authority to adopt this Resolution pursuant to Article VIII of the Constitution of the
State of Florida and Chapter 166, Florida Statutes.
SECTION 2.
The City Commission of the City of Ocoee hereby
requests that The Honorable Governor Bush support the City of Ocoee-Florida Maine Street-
Reliever for SR50-$800,000 Economic Development-Bill27E Section 6 Item No. 2486 Page

SECTION 3.
Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any
court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and
independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion
hereto.
SECTION 4.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon passage and adoption.
