Announcements Fundraisers City of Ocoee Grant application Facilitating Parent meeting II. Discussion • The Brunch on February 23, 2014 will be the kick off for OSCD's 25 Anniversary. This will be first of several fundraiser events for the year. Each board member will need to pick a task for that day. • The application is due on the 30 so time is of the essence. This grant will be a great way to introduce a new community to what has been available for the last 25years. The idea is that if the children from the Ocoee community can't get to the Pine Hills studio, then we will take the service to them. The Orange County facility on Apopka - Vineland Rd has made the facility available. All background screening have been done and contracts are signed. We are waiting on the Board of Commissioners to sign the final contract. OSCD has agreed to partner with us by matching the dollars from the City of Ocoee. If there are 20 students interested in the class the $500 will be divided making the scholarship $25 plus the match doubles it to $50. This way the 2015 participation will consist of residents from the City of Ocoee. • We would like to facilitate a discussion with the families that we serve about issues that affect them. A lot of families need health insurance and do not have the info they need to make a good decision, especially about Obamacare. Since our vision is to empower our community this will be unbiased and beneficial. III. Roundtable The board has decided that the brunch is a go. Each member will contact a sponsor for the food /brunch menu. Julie will handle marketing and collateral for that event. Frank Wharton and Julie Coleman will write and submit the Ocoee Grant.
