COMMENTS Assistant Support Services Director Doug Gaines — stated that the City Commission goes through the same trials and tribulations as the Code Enforcement Board regarding fine reduction cases. They take in account if the violations caused a public nuisance; were a danger to the public; how long neighbors had to deal with the issues; citizen complaint; and how much cooperation the City received from the past /current owner. Officer Loeffler - showed before /after photos of a property. Member Kelley — requested that City Staff use more concern and consideration when recommending compliance windows and fines, and to request realistic fines and timelines. Mr. Gaines responded that if the impact on the public's health /safety is not high, then the City recommends 10 -day compliance and $25 per day fine; however, it is only a recommendation to the board. The board may use discretion in determining a compliance timeframe and fine amount. Vice- Chairman Lowery -- stated that the information the Board receives is not the full picture, and feels the Board is pulling strings to get the full picture. He also commented that the City is doing a great job. Member Carrington — keep up the good work! Chairman Godek —commended staff for a job well done.
