Public Hearing on Annual Rate Resolution for the Fire Assessment (Advertised in the Orlando Sentinel using a display ad on Sunday, August 10, 2014) H. Staff Presentation — Director of Support Services Al Butler The final action to implement the fire assessment for Fiscal Year 2015 is for the City Commission to adopt the Annual Rate Resolution. Included in the resolution is the proposal to adopt the Assessment Rate of $69.50 and authorization for the Mayor to sign the Assessment Roll certification for FY 2015, which must be delivered to the Orange County Tax Collector by September 15, 2014, so the assessments can be included in the November 2014 tax bill. 1. City Attorney Cookson will read the title of the resolution. 2. Director Butler will briefly summarize the contents of the resolution. 3. City Commissioners will have the opportunity to ask questions. III. Public Comments The Mayor will open the public hearing to give citizens the opportunity to speak at the Public podium. Each speaker will be required to submit a speaker's form for the record. IV. Discussion by City Commission V. Approval of Annual Rate Resolution Motion to Adopt Annual Rate Resolution, No. 2014 -008, and authorize the Mayor to certify the Assessment Roll followed by a vote of the City Commission VL Adjournment Please Note: In accordance with Florida Statute 286.0105, any person who desires to appeal any decision at this meeting will need a record of the proceedings and for this purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made that includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
