The City Commission appoints two of the trustees from the legal residential body of the City of Ocoee, two are elected from the employee body (one police officer and one firefighter), and the fifth trustee is chosen by those four trustees and presented to the City commission for certification of the appointment as a ministerial act. William Maxwell is a Commission Appointed Trustee, and his term is set to expire September 30, 2014. Mr. Maxwell has indicated he is willing to serve another term if appointed. From 2013 -2014, Trustee Maxwell has attended six (6) of nine (9) meetings. However, there is currently one application on file from Bryan Pace who is interested in serving for this board. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners reappoint Mr. William Maxwell as the Commission Appointed Trustee on the Police Officers' and Firefighters' Retirement Trust Fund Board of Trustees, or consider appointment of Bryan Pace in replacement of William Maxwell ? Recommendations Trustees of the Police Officers' and Firefighters' Trust Fund respectfully request the Mayor and City Commission reappoint Mr. William Maxwell to serve a four -year term as the Commission Appointed Trustee with a term ending September 30, 2018, or consider appointing Bryan Pace in replacement of William Maxwell with term ending September 2018.
