Subject: CIP Purchase of Flatbed Trailer - Request for Increased Funding
-........
Background Summary:
The Utilities Department obtained three written quotes for the purchase of a flat bed trailer to transport the backhoe
to and from the plant to sites that require heavy equipment applications. Walker Miller provided a quote for a
Econoline line backhoe trailer at $8,995.00; this model is comparatively lighter and shorter that would be needed to
transport the backhoe. Nortrax provided cut sheets and general specifications for a trailer that was more in-line
with the expected requirements for the backhoe trailer and at a cost of$12,827.00. Briggs Equipment offered an
Eager Beaver Modell2HDB-PT trailer that conforms to the needs of backhoe transportation as established through
prior uses and experience at a cost of$12,450.00. This amount ($12,450.00) is $600.00 over the budgeted and
approved elP amount.
Issue:
Should the Mayor and the City Commission approve an increase funding from $11,850.00 to $12,450.00 (net
increase of $600.00) for the purchase of a flat bed trailer.
Recommendations
Motion to authorize the City Manager to increase the CIP funding for a flatbed trailer from $11,850.00 to
