Background Summary: The approved city budget includes the purchase of an Ambulance which is in need of an additional $48,915.00 for the purchase, as not to exceed amount of $140,000.00 that was originally approved for financing. The additional amount will come from the following accounts 001 - 522 -00 -1200 - $32,915.00 and 001 - 522 -00 -2200 - $16,000.00.The increase is due to the new Ambulance National Standards requirement. Issue: Request the Commission to approve the additional amount for purchase of the Ambulance. Recommendations Staff recommends the approval of the Commission to approve the additional amount of funds needed. We expect this newly updated document will be aublished and effective on July 1. 2015 as Change Notice 8. Below is what our manufacturers are stating need to be addressed at the time ofpurchase. Illinois' position on the change is also attached. NOTES FROM OUR MANUFACTURERS We were previously notified that there would be three (3) major changes to include SAE J3026, SAE 13027 and SAE J3043. Of those additions we are now informed that SAE J3043 — Ambulance Equipment Mount Device or Systems will not be included in the July 1, 2015 publication as initially announced. Therefore, effective July 1, 2015 the following changes are being implemented. There are several OPTIONS that will be credited to the standards change.
