HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-24-92 SS '-' KINUTES or THE CITY OF OCOEE BOARD or COKKISSIONERS SPECIAL SESSION HELD September 24, 1992 Mayor Dabbs called the special session to order at 7:50 a.m. in the city hall conference room and announced that this meeting had been duly advertised and was called in order to consider the purchase of equipment using reimbursable recycling grant monies. The roll was called and a quorum declared present. PRESEHT: Mayor Dabbs, Commissioners Combs, Foster and Johnson. Also present were City Manager Shapiro, Administrative Director Beamer, Public Works Director Brenner, Sanitation Supervisor Dees, and City Clerk Grafton. ABSEHT: Commissioner Woodson Discussion/Authorization to Purchase Equipaent Using Reiabursable Recycling Grant Konies for a Not-to-Exceed Aaount of $18,000. Public Works Director Brenner said that last week he had been notified that $18,000 in recycling grant monies would be available for the City of Ocoee to use this fiscal year, but only if the purchases were made and paid for prior to September 30, 1992. Mr. Brenner requested authorization to purchase 1) axles for two recycling trailers; 2) a 2-ton used dump truck that would be used to pull the chipper previously purchased; and 3) six new tires for the present recycling truck'~ Coaaissioner Combs asked if the mulch would be available for citizens and Kr. Brenner said it would. ~ Coaaissioner roster asked if there would be additional purchases and Kr. Brenner responded that the only purchases would be those items listed; however, any funds left over would be used for tipping fees. Coaaissioner Coabs, seconded by Couissioner Johnson, moved to approve the recommendation as presented. Motion carried with unanimous vote in favor.
