PRESENT: Mayor Vandergrift, Commissioners Combs, Foster, Johnson, and Woodson. Also present were City Manager Shapiro, Administrative Services Director Beamer, and City Clerk Grafton. ABSENT: None City Hall/Police Department Facility - C.T. HSU - Presentation and Discussion Administrative Services Director Beamer and Mari Haeflein gave a brief history of this project and Tim McNicholas described the changes made since conferring with City department heads, using a mock-up of the buildings. Commissioner Combs expressed concern regarding the possible leaking of the metal roof. Commissioner Foster found the roof design too plain and asked that dormers be added to the police roof. Commissioner Woodson asked if this will be a wooden frame building as he was concerned about the maintenance, and Mr. McNicholas said they are still looking into that and if so they would probably recommend stain finish as opposed to ~ paint. Mr. McNicholas explained the reconfiguration to the drainage ditch made necessary by the moving of the parking lot. Mayor Vandergrift suggested damming the ditch with a series of small dirt dams to create water falls/holding ponds in order to catch debris before it goes into the lake and using those ponds for fishing ponds for children. Mr. McNicholas said that there may be hydraulic problems with such action and with permitting as well. Commissioner Woodson asked if the retention pond would be dry. Mr. McNicholas said that it would. Planning Director Behrens asked about screening the porch because of the mosquitoes and was advised that would not be done. Commissioner Combs still had questions regarding the roof and Ms. Haeflein said she would provide information for him. ADJOURNMENT The work session adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Attest: Approved: CITY OF OCOEE '-' 5$
