Water System Ext. - Change Order No. 1 AGENDA ITEM COVER SHEET Meeting Date: December 5. 2006 Item # 5 ~~ Contact Name: Contact Number: David Wheeler 407 -905-3100, ext. 1505 Reviewed By: Department Director: City Manager: Subject: Windsor Landings Subdivision Reuse Water System Extension - Change Order #1 Background Summary: This project consisted of extending the existing reuse water main along Maguire Road approximately 1380 linear feet from Moore Road to the entrance to the Windsor Landings subdivision. The Meadow Ridge Developer, Pulte Homes Corp. installed 12" main for a portion adjacent to the Meadow Ridge Development. The City installed 8" main from Meadow Ridge to the Windsor Landing Subdivision. This project also provided a stub out to the west side of Maguire Road at the Meadow Ridge intersection. Issue: This change order is required for an additional 75 feet of 8" pipe installed by directional bore underneath Sagecrest Drive. This work is required to eliminate the need to close Sagecrest Drive for multiple days by boring to the south side of the drive. This will also provide a possible future connection for Orange County should they ever need to extend service south of town. Recommendations The Public Utilities and Engineering Departments recommend that the City Commission approve of the change order with Pulte Home Corp. in the amount of $4,875.00 and 14 day contract extension. Staff also recommends that the City Commission authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute change order #1 with Pulte Homes, Corp. Attachments: Change Order #1 Financial Impact: The change order amount will be funded by the 2003 Utility Bond Issue.
