MAY 26, 1992
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Chairman Phillip Rowe, Vice Chairman Ray Wood, Frank
Carlsson, Robert Imes, Madeline Shagner, Jim Sills, David Rich,
Attorney Ike Cool, Code Enforcement Officer Steve Ross, Fire
Inspector Rick Holmes, and Deputy Clerk Sherry Seaver.
ABSENT: None
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm in the Ocoee Community
Center. Chairman Rowe led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Mr. Carlsson led in prayer. Chairman Rowe stated for the record
that there was a quorum present.
APPROVALS
Mr. Imes made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 28, 1992
Code Enforcement Board meeting as printed and distributed. Motion
seconded by Mr. Carlsson and approved unanimously.
HEARINGS ON STATEMENT OF VIOLATIONS PURSUANT TO NOTICES OF HEARING
92-38, Susan M. Simmons
This case was dismissed by Code Enforcement Officer Ross because
the property had been sold prior to the hearing. Mr. Ross stated
that the new owner would be cited with the same violations.
92-39, Helping Hand Lawn and Landscape Inc.
This case complied prior to the hearing and was dismissed.
92-41, Curtis Products Co. , Inc.
Code Enforcement Officer Ross was sworn in at this time by Deputy
Clerk Seaver. Chairman Rowe stated for the record that there was no
one present to represent this case. Mr. Ross stated that this was
a vending company that had machines inside Dugetti's restaurant.
Mr. Ross stated that he had no contact with the owner of the
business. He also stated as of this date the machines were still in
non-compliance. Mr. Carlsson made a motion to find the Respondent
in non-compliance and to give them until June 1, 1992 to comply or
to be fined $100.00 a day thereafter. Motion seconded by Mr. Wood
and approved unanimously.
OTHER BUSINESS
92-32, Gopaty Ramnarine
Mr. Ross stated that the junk vehicle violation on the truck on
this property had complied with the order but had went past the

time specified by the Board at the last meeting. Mr. Ross stated
that the camper was still in non-compliance because the tag was not
placed on the vehicle. He stated he received a copy of the
registration but they failed to put it on the camper. Mr. Carlsson
made a motion to sign an Order Imposing Fine and Lien on the
compliance order set for the camper only. Motion seconded by Mr.
Rich and approved unanimously. At this time there was a discussion
on the compliance order for the truck. Mr Imes made a motion to
waive the fine and lien for the compliance order on the truck only.
Motion seconded by Mr. Carlsson and approved unanimously. Mr. Ross
made a statement that there were clerical errors on the Affidavits
of Non-Compliance for this case. The correct date on the compliance
order for the truck was May 12, 1992 instead of March 12, 1992 . The
correct date for compliance for the camper was May 5, 1992 instead
of March 5, 1992 .
COMMENTS
City Manager - Not Present.
Police Department - Not Present.
Code Enforcement Officers - Made comments about only a small
percentage of cases are coming to the Code Board.
Board Members - Mr. Wood - Requested that Mr. Ross check on
Coastline Services to make sure they were valid.
Board Attorney - Mr. Cool discussed the change in Notary Law and
that he would work on the Code Enforcement Forms so that they read
correctly.
Citizens - No Comment.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Carlsson made a motion to adjourn. Motion seconded by Mr. Imes
and approved unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
