HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-28-1991 Minutes ,£ MINUTES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEETING HELD L MAY 28, 1991 ROLL CALL Present: Chairman John Linebarier, Jim Sills, Robert Imes, Frank Carlsson, Ray Wood, Phillip Rowe, Attorney Ike Cool, Code Enforcement Officer Steve Ross and Deputy Clerk Sherry Seaver. Absent: Gary Carroll (excused) Chairman Linebarier called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Ocoee Community Center. Chairman Linebarier led in the Pledge of Allegiance and Mr. Rowe led in prayer. There was a quorum present. At this time, Chairman Linebarier formally introduced Mr. Jim Sills to the Board. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Imes made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 23, 1991 meeting as printed. Motion seconded by Mr. Carlsson and approved unanimously. HEARINGS ON STATEMENTS OF VIOLATION PURSUANT TO NOTICES OF HEARING Case 91-058, Jart Properties of Orlando, Ltd. This Case complied before the hearing and was dismissed. Case 91-062, Marian L. Meeks This Case complied before the hearing and was dismissed. Case 91-063, Betty Pedrick This Case complied before the hearing and was dismissed. Case 91-064, Robert Iles This Case complied before the hearing and was dismissed. Case 91-067, Eugene &/or Marie Missavage At this time, Code Enforcement Officer Steve Ross was sworn in by Deputy Clerk Seaver. Mr. Ross stated that this case was in reference to the nuisance and menace to Public Health: not properly maintaining the pool in the back yard. Mr. Ross presented pictures to the Board for review. Mr. Ross told the Board that this was a repeat violation and he was given until May 17, 1991 to comply. On this date, the property was still in non-compliance. Mr. Ross stated that he spoke with Mrs. Missavage on this date and explained to her about the meeting and that she needed to be there. The Board discussed the prior cases for this exact violation on this property. Chairman Linebarier stated for the record that there was no one present to represent this case. Mr. Carlsson made a motion to find the Respondent in non-compliance and to fine them $50.00 a Page 2 4611, Code Enforcement Board Meeting May 28, 1991 day from May 18, 1991 through May 22, 1991 and to sign an Order Imposing Fine and Lien totaling $250.00. Motion seconded by Mr. Wood and approved unanimously. OTHER BUSINESS 91-049, Robert M. &/or Dreama J. Varnes Mr. Carlsson made a motion to dismiss this case. Motion seconded by Mr. Rowe and approved unanimously. 91-055, Leonard M. &/or Samantha L. Zeigler Mr. Carlsson made a motion to dismiss this case. Motion seconded by Mr. Rowe and approved unanimously. Chairman Linebarier asked Attorney Cool to explain the procedure on voting. Mr. Cool stated that State Statute said that four members had to vote affirmatively but that he would research the matter and present it to the Board at the next meeting. COMMENTS City Manager - Not Present Code Enforcement Officers - No Comments Board Members - Mr. Wood commended Code Enforcement Officers for their work. Mr. Carlsson asked for an address instead of "hand Delivery" . Chairman Linebarier asked Mr. Ross if the fine had been recorded for Jart Properties yet? Mr. Ross stated that it would be taken care of that week. Board Attorney - No Comments Police Department - Not Present ADJOURNMENT Mr. Carlsson made a motion to adjourn.
