HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-26-1991 Minutes MINUTES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 26, 1991 CALL TO ORDER PRESENT: Vice Chairman Ray Wood, Jim Sills, Madeline Shagner, Gary Carroll, Frank Carlsson, Ike Cool, Code Enforcement Officers Rod McDougal and Steve Ross, and Deputy Clerk Teresa Braddy. ABSENT: Chairman Phillip Rowe, Robert Imes (excused) Vice Chairman Wood called the meeting to order at 7 :30 p.m. in the Ocoee Community Center. Vice Chairman Wood led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and in Prayer. Mr. Carlsson led in prayer. Vice Chairman Wood stated for the record that there was a quorum present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Sills made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 22, 1991 Code Enforcement Board meeting as printed and distributed. Motion seconded by Mr. Carlsson and approved unanimously. HEARINGS ON STATEMENTS OF VIOLATIONS PURSUANT TO NOTICES OF HEARING 91-103, Kevin Barnes Code Enforcement Officers Ross and McDougal were sworn in by Deputy Clerk Braddy. Mr. McDougal stated that Section 19-1 requires that a permit be obtained to build in the right-of-way. Contact was made with the Respondent and an extension was given because of a medical problem. The pole was causing a hazard and a permit would not be given. Mr. Carroll asked if there was a specific ordinance against placing posts in the right-of-way. Mr. Ross stated no. Mr. Carlsson made a motion to find the Respondent in non-compliance and give them until December 3, 1991 to comply or be fined $50.00 a day thereafter. Motion seconded by Mr. Sills and approved unanimously. 91-113, Bellemar Investments Mr. McDougal stated that the property at 903 Doreen Avenue had been abandoned and is in need of maintenance. No contact was made with the Respondent. Mr. Wood asked Mr. McDougal if he had checked with the State of Florida to find the registered agent for the property. Mr. McDougal stated no. Mr. Cool stated that there was no need to check with the State because he had made contact with the owner of record. Mr. Wood asked that the State be contacted to please the Board. Mr. Carlsson made a motion to find the Respondent in non- compliance and to give them until December 4, 1991 to comply or to be fined $50.00 a day thereafter. Noble Mr. Carroll made a motion to sign the Order Imposing Fine and Lien. Motion seconded by Ms. Shagner and approved unanimously. Mr. Wood announced that there would not be a meeting scheduled in December because of the Holidays. Mr. Wood made a motion to adjourn. Motion seconded by Mr. Carroll and approved unanimously.
