HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem #14 Discussion Regarding the Broadcasting and Use of the City Commission Chambers for the Political Forum Hosted by the GFWC Woman’s Club 1A-ern * 14 Sibbitt, Melanie From: Judie Lewis <jk11943@yahoo.com> Sent: Friday,January 26, 2018 9:37 AM To: Sibbitt, Melanie Subject: Political Forum Mary, I realize that it may seem like there is plenty of time and Vicki Raduenz is in charge of the Political Forum but there are a couple of things that must be taken into consideration this time as the West Orange Times isn't going to be handling things. First, you or you and Vicki (and the sooner the better) should meet with Melanie Sibbett (407-905-3105) regarding whether or not the City of Ocoee is going to welcome/honor and allow the Women's Club to host the Political Forum in the City Commission Chambers; if so, will they televise it? (a TV crew must be committed for the night); the City has paid the fee for these services in the past but is it true this year? And, another reason for looking now at the calendar, is that the City has other meetings in the Commission Chambers such as P&Z, or others and a date must be chosen when staff is available to provide services for the facility, for us, and the community. The Political Forum agenda must be created and posted. It is critical to post that according to State guidelines to fall within the Sunshine Law. There may be other issues but these come to mind tonight. Melanie will needs a"heads up" in order to plan the calendar as well as time for Staff discussion.
