MINUTES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEETING
HELD MARCH 11, 1985
HEARINGS ON STATEMENT OF VIOLATION PURSUANT TO NOTICES OF HEARING
Case 85-9, John Peterlich was heard by the board. The original
citation included several items: barrels, tables, misc . junk
and sheets of styrofoam. Ron Thomas , the Building Official and
Code Enforcement Board Officer, was sworn in and stated that he
had been a Mr. Peterlich ' s property today and that the man has
obviously complied with the majority of the original citation .
However, there is still a small amount of rubbish and 4 to 5
large sheets of styrofoam that need to be addressed. Mr. Thomas
recommended that the Board give Mr. Peterlich two weeks to get
the styrofoam stacked, covered and elevated off of the ground
and also to clean up the remaining rubbish. Mr. Peterlich was
present and sworn in. Mr. Peterlich stated that 2 weeks would
give him adequate time to get everything into compliance. Mr.
Carlsson was concerned that Mr. Peterlich could obtain more
styrofoam and add it to the pieces that he already has. Mr.
Peterlich stated that he could no longer obtain the styrofoam.
Chairman Linebarier made a motion to issue Mr. Peterlich a
Compliance Order, giving him until March 25 , 1985 to remove the
remaining rubbish and to stack, cover and elevate the styrofoam.
If Mr. Peterlich does not comply by the 25th of March, the case
will be brought before the Board at the Aprill 8th meeting, at
which time penalties may be considered. The motion was seconded
by Frank Carlsson and the vote was carried unanimously . The
Clerk prepared the Compliance Order, Chairman Linebarier signed
the Order and a copy was furnished to Mr. Peterlich .
OTHER BUSINESS
The City Manager was sworn in and stated that he observed Mr.
Setarum' s property prior to the meeting and that he is in
compliance. There is still outstanding penalties against Mr.
Setarum. However , the City is in litigation with Mr. Setarum
at present . Mr. Carlsson made a motion to table the case until
August 12 , 1985. If Mr. Setarum has not paid the penalties at
such time, the Board will review the avenues it may take to re-
solve the matter.
The City Manager informed the Board of the progress with Ms.
Reeves. This case was not brought before the Board, but taken
directly to the Commission. The City Manager informed the Board
that Ms. Reeves has accomplished quite a bit in getting her
property cleaned up and feels that the progress will continue
until everything on her property is in compliance with the code.

MINUTES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEETING
HELD MARCH 11, 1985
ORDER OF CONTINUANCE
Kay Wood, # 84-48 and Leigh Sill , # 84-47 have been adminis-
tratively dismissed.
ORDER OF COMPLIANCE
After much discussion the Board agreed that Ms . Howell is
indeed concerned about the condition of her grove and that
she has been very conscientious in keeping the City Manager
posted on status . She is having a problem due to the small
size of her grove . The freeze has caused much damage in
many of the groves in this area. The people with the equip-
ment to clean up her grove are working in larger groves and
do not want to take on such a small job at this time . Chair-
man Linebarier made a motion to issue Ms. Howell an Order of
Continuance accompanied with a letter from the City Manager.
This continuance will give Ms. Howell till May 13th, to clean
up her grove . If Ms . Howell does not comply within that time,
she must show reasonable proof that she has indeed tried to
contract someone to do tile work. If no reasonable proof can
be furnished to the Board, a Compliance Order will be the next
step. Gary Carroll seconded the motion and the vote was
carried unanimously.
DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO JUNK, VEHICLE ORDINANCE
After much discussion the Board directed the City Manager and
his staff to re-draft the amendment to expand further on what
constitutes a vehicle being considered junked and abandoned.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Linebarier made a motion to adjourn the meeting at
9:40 pm. The motion was seconded b. _ - ry Carroll and the
