STAFF REPORT
TO: The Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners
FROM: Bruce C. Behrens, Director of Planning Pee
DATE: September 2, 1993
SUBJ: ST. PAUL'S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
REQUEST FOR SIXTY DAY EXTENSION OF
SPECIAL EXCEPTION
ISSUE:
Should the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners grant a
sixty (60) day extension of a Special Exception for a private
school at St . Paul 's Presbyterian Church?
BACKGROUND:
On September 15, 1992 , the City Commission granted a Special
Exception, for one year, to the Central Florida Community School to
operate a private school at the St . Paul 's Presbyterian Church.
DISCUSSION:
On August 30 , 1993 , St . Paul 's Presbyterian Church applied for a
Special Exception to conduct a permanent "Educational Ministry" on
the church property.
To allow the church sufficient time for City Staff to process their
application, Pastor Stamper is requesting a 60-day extension of
their present Special Exception.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commission grant
a 60-day extension (until November 15 , 1993) to the existing
Special Exception so that the church's new application may be
processed in a timely manner.
