This Model 950 TREK - 21 speed bicycle was acquired from Jim Hurd, Curator of the
Schwinn Bicycle Museum in Chicago, Illinois. The bike has less than two miles
on it and it is checked out and adjusted by the world famous cycle expert Dianne
Blake. It has Bio Pace sprockets (elliptical shaped) , single track, and sells
for $750.00 at Orange Cycle. Elliptical sprockets are especially made so that
while pedalling, you get more power on the power stroke. This invention was
first used in 1893.
Recently my nephew, Jesse Denkins, had a bike that was stolen and I gave this
bike to him for his future bike. When we read the article in the January 28
issue of the Orlando Sentinel about the bicycle police patrol needing two more
bikes I suggested to Jesse that he might like to give this bike to the police
patrol to help fight crime in our City, as it will be some time before he is big
enough to use it. He was very excited about this chance to help and is looking
forward to the presentation.
Sincerely,
S/Walter Branche
