TO: Jean Grafton, City Clerk
FROM: John H. Boyd, Chief of Police
DATE: December 16, 1993
SUBJECT: REQUEST TO BE ADDED TO AGENDA FOR DECEMBER 21, 1993
COMMISSION MEETING
I would like to request that fifteen minutes be set aside at the
next Commission meeting (December 21, 1993) to acknowledge Officer
Duwana Mullins' award from The Central Florida Association of Women
in Police.
The DIANNA TURNER MEMORIAL AWARD was established by the Central
Florida Association of Women Police to honor the outstanding female
Law Enforcement Officer of the year.
Although Officer Mullins was not the award winner, the association
was extremely impressed with Officer Mullins' quality of work.
Officer Mullins was honored at an Awards Breakfast on December 3,
1993.
Officer Mullins was assigned to cross-train with the M.B.I. During
her tenure with M.B.I. , and while assigned to the vice unit, she
received letters of appreciation from Sergeant Les Allen of M.B.I.
praising her admirably in assisting in areas of wire taps/escort
services which led to the downfall of a major illegal escort
service throughout Orange County.
