Dear Friends of West Orange,
The West Orange High School Cheerleaders have been invited to
participate in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans this year. We are
excited that West Orange will be represented so well by this great
group of young students. The Cheerleaders work hard to promote
our school and to motivate our students to become involved in our
athletic program.
We are in the process of raising funds for this trip and although we
know you are constantly asked for money, we feel this opportunity
to showcase our best teen age role models to the country would be a
wise investment in our community. We would appreciate your help
in this exciting opportunity.
Your tax deductible contributions may be made directly to West
Orange High School. Please designate the cheerleader you are
sponsoring, if your contribution is intended for a particular
cheerleader. If you have any questions, please contact me at
656-2424 extension 262. Thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Karen Whiddon, Sponsor

To Whom It May Concern:
As the cover letter indicates the West Orange High School cheerleaders have
been invited to perform in the half time show at this years Sugar Bowl. While
this is an honor it is also very costly. The cost per girl is $500 not including
meals. We will be leaving on December 29 and returning on January 2. It will
cost each girl approximately $100 for meals during that time.
We have had many fund raisers to try to defray the amount the parents would have
to pay. We had 3 dougnut sales, sold Adventure Cards, T-Shirts, raffled a TV,
worked the concession stand for the Booster Club, sold candy not to mention
asking for donations.
Six hundred dollars is a lot of money and has presented a hardship for many of
our girls families, particularly at this time of year. Even after all the fund-
raisers at least half of the expense must be paid by the girls.
Out of 25 girls going to the Sugar Bowl, 9 are Ocoee residents. These young
ladies are some of West Orange High School's finest and represent the City of Ocoee
well.
Anything you can do to help send these girls to New Orleans will be greatly
appreciated. Thank you for your kind consideration.
Below is a list of the cheerleaders from Ocoee:
Kiersten Andrews Angela Tudor Leann Rainer
Christi Boone Mandie Whiddon
Jennifer Clark Kellie Kilpatrick
Amanda Childress Brandi Rose

It
