Re: Nomination to Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) of the
Orlando Urban Area Transportation Study
This item was tabled from November 16, 1993 to December 7, 1993 and again from December
7, 1993 to January 18, 1994.
Commission had asked Commissioner Woodson if he would be willing to serve on this
committee. Commissioner Woodson notified us today that he declines nomination to the CAC
due to other commitments.
In selecting a person to nominate, the following information may be helpful. The CAC meets
on the last Wednesday each month at the ECFRPC off Lee Road, and the person you choose to
nominate should not be an elected official or technician (as planner or engineer), but should be
a person interested in transportation issues.
Attached is the November 30, 1993 letter to Mayor Vandergrift concerning Ocoee's nominee
from David L. Grovdahl, Director, MPO Staff.

Dear Mayor Vandergrift:
Due to the election of Mr. Jim Gleason to the Ocoee City Commission, the City
of Ocoee has a vacancy on the Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) of the
Orlando Urban Area Transportation Study.
The CAC is tentatively scheduled to meet on December 1, 1993. It is possible
that a CAC member may at that time nominate an individual to serve on the CAC
representing Ocoee. Any action taken by the CAC in this regard will be
transmitted in writing to your office for approval prior to submittal to the
Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) .
In order to facilitate this admittedly lengthy process, you may want to submit
the name of an individual for consideration. If so, simply notify our office
at your convenience. If not. the staff will ask the CAC to submit additional
names for consideration by the MPO. In no instance will the nominee be
presented for ratification by the MPO without the staff having received the
prior written approval of the appropriate elected official representing the
governmental jurisdiction in question.
Do not hesitate to contact our office regarding any questions that you may
have on this topic.
