Beamer, Director Administrative Services . SUBJECT: Equipment Requirements for the Police Department and City Hall After meeting with several different telephone equipment suppliers, it became clear that to integrate E9-1-1, Dictaphone, audio channels, and telephone emergency/non-emergency lines into one answering point for the dispatchers requires the use of Norstar telephone equipment. The digital to analog conversion necessary to make this multiple configuration under a single answering point work has only been provided successfully by this company:. St. Cloud and Casselberry are both operating under the Norstar system; Altamonte Springs is planning for this change. Total for the system plus necessary optional is $19,355.00. The full proposal is attached. To relocate and test the Motorola equipment for the new building requires the work by Motorola as described on their attached proposal. The cabling to the building will be accomplished through another vendor; however, Motorola must do the disassembly and reinstallation to ensure proper working order. The cost is $4,900.00. In order not to have any antenna on the new buildings the base station for City Hall communication with the field will be remote. The equipment for Protective Inspections and Utility Counter costs $4,408.50. These three communication requirements will be funded from the Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment budget. Balance in this line after these expenditures will be $100,662.00. Action Requested The Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve the expenditures as outlined above and authorize the City Staff to execute the necessary purchase orders. - MEB/jbwret2rsaaneaSa.
