Background Summary: On February 9, 1999, Ordinance No. 99-09, was adopted requiring nine (9) members that must be City residents for the Planning and Zoning Commission and five members are needed to meet the quorum requirement. The term of Member Frank Morris has expired, and he has indicated an interest in being considered for reappointment. Mr. Morris has been a member of the Planning & Zoning Commission since June 2004, and since that time has attended 19 of 21 meetings. Currently, one (1) application is on file for this board. Ocoee Resident Michael Elliott has also indicated an interest in being a member of the Planning & Zoning Commission. Mr. Elliott lives in District 4 and his resume show extensive knowledge of construction development. Issue: Should Member Frank Morris or Michael Elliott be appointed to the Planning & Zoning Commission? Recommendations Staff respectfully recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners consider appointing Member Frank Morris or Michael Elliott to serve on the Planning & Zoning Commission for a three-year term ending February 2010.
