Brandon Rivera Presentation Fernando Martinez Fundraiser: On November 19, the Ocoee Police Department's Volunteers in Police Services held a teen dance to raise funds for the family of Fernando Martinez, an Ocoee Police volunteered injured on Marine Corps Reserve duty. The event raised over $1 ,600 for the Martinez Family. Ottis Patton of the Engineering Department joined forces with the Police Explorer program and raised over $1,700 for the Martinez family by pledging to run a marathon in his name. Together we will be presenting Suzanne Martinez, Fernando's wife and Ocoee Police Dispatcher, with a check for $3,300. Ofc Tim Harding Explorer Scharlene Flener Explorer Brian Harris Explorer Harrison Grogan Explorer Shauna Prince Explorer Anna Castillo Presentation Explorer PlaQue Presentation During 2004, the Police Explorer Post has been an invaluable asset to the Police Department and City of Ocoee. In addition to learning about law enforcement, they conducted traffic control for the Founder's Day Parade and 5K Run, Poker Run, Christmas Parade, and events for Rotary and the Women's Club. They assisted in the dissemination of hurricane readiness materials and volunteered at the Ocoee Middle School hurricane shelter. They hosted the City's first Teen Citizen Police Academy and assisted at the National Night Out carnival. They conducted child fingerprinting events at Wellington Place Subdivision, Best Buy, West Oaks Mall, Dillards, and Parisians just to name a few. Lastly, they removed graffiti on Peter's Rd, at Pioneer Key Park II, and Spring Lake Elementary. Silver Bend Subdivision Presentation OCOEE TENNIS PLAYERS OF THE YEAR The selections for the sixth year for Ocoee Tennis Players of the Year for 2004 are: Brittnie Hopkins and Tim Sabat. Their tennis skill development has been exceptional with hard work and fun. They are committed, dependable individuals that have earned the respect of others and brought creditability to our tennis program. Brittnie and Tim both serve the Ocoee Community freely through the Tennis Academy and Community Association. Both are the best tennis players at their respected high schools with an incredibly win record in singles and doubles. They have established themselves as experience tournament players. Brittnie and Tim have been exclusively trained in our Ocoee Tennis Program and well prepared for College Tennis in the near future. They are ambassadors to tennis, tracking and helping others, giving back to the game so that others will have the wonderful experience that Ocoee gave them. Brittnie has worked on the professional tennis tour with Coach Vinson. As a freshman Brittnie was finalist at the HS district tournament. We are very proud of Brittnie and Tim! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
