During 2004, the Police Explorer Post has been an invaluable asset to the Police Department and
City of Ocoee. In addition to learning about law enforcement, they conducted traffic control for
the Founder's Day Parade and 5K Run, Poker Run, Christmas Parade, and events for Rotary and
the Women's Club. They assisted in the dissemination of hurricane readiness materials and
volunteered at the Ocoee Middle School hurricane shelter. They hosted the City's first Teen
Citizen Police Academy and assisted at the National Night Out carnival. They conducted child
fingerprinting events at Wellington Place Subdivision, Best Buy, West Oaks Mall, Dillards, and
Parisians just to name a few. Lastly, they removed graffiti on Peter's Rd, at Pioneer Key Park II,

OCOEE TENNIS PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
The selections for the sixth year for Ocoee Tennis Players of the Year for 2004
are: Brittnie Hopkins and Tim Sabat.
Their tennis skill development has been exceptional with hard work and fun.
They are committed, dependable individuals that have earned the respect of
others and brought creditability to our tennis program. Brittnie and Tim both
serve the Ocoee Community freely through the Tennis Academy and Community
Association.
Both are the best tennis players at their respected high schools with an incredibly
win record in singles and doubles. They have established themselves as
experience tournament players.
Brittnie and Tim have been exclusively trained in our Ocoee Tennis Program and
well prepared for College Tennis in the near future. They are ambassadors to
tennis, tracking and helping others, giving back to the game so that others will
have the wonderful experience that Ocoee gave them. Brittnie has worked on
the professional tennis tour with Coach Vinson. As a freshman Brittnie was
finalist at the HS district tournament.
We are very proud of Brittnie and Tim! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
