CITY OF OCOEE AGENDA ITEM COVER SHEET Date: Septen>ber 13, 2004 Meeting Date: September 21,2004 Subject: Amendment No. 1, Storm Debris Removal&Disposal Residential Yard Waste&Bulky Waste Collection and Disposal Agreement Issue: Amend the current Residential Yard Waste&Bulky Waste Collection and Disposal Agreement with Onyx Waste Services of Florida, Inc. to include storm debris removal and disposal. Recommendation: Staff respectfully requests the Mayor and City Commission to approve Amendment No. 1 to Residential Yard Waste and Bulky Waste Collection and Disposal with Onyx Waste Services of Florida, Inc; and authorize Mayor and City Clerk to execute Amendment No. 1. Background Summary: The current Residential Yard Waste&Bulky Waste Collection and Disposal Agreement with Onyx Waste Services of Florida, Inc., does not include provisions for removal of storm debris for the aftermath of declared emergencies and other emergencies caused by minor storms. Amendment No. 1 will add provisions and terms for mobilization, collection, and disposal of debris for declared emergencies such as hurricanes, tornados and other minor storms as determined by the City. Fiscal Impacts: Addition of the provisions for storm debris removal and disposal to the current contract will not have a budgetary impact since there are no dollar values associated with contract modifications. The storm debris provisions will be enacted upon the need and source of the funds to be used will be identified by staff prior to authorization of works.
