Scott Vandergrift 15 Years Steven Ellis Steve began employment with the City of Ocoee on October 12, 1989 as a Firefighter. In May 1998, he was promoted to Engineer. Through hard work and dedication, Steve became a Certified Paramedic in October 2000. He recently was chosen to the Central Florida Task Force 4 Consortium. On occasion, Steve has the responsibilities as Acting Lieutenant. He currently is the President of the IAFF Local Firefighters Union. Along with his plaque, Steve will receive $150.00 to spend at Best Buy. SERVICE AWARD NOVEMBER 16, 2004 Presented by: Mayor S. Scott Vandergrift 5 Years Ed Bishop Ed began employment with the City of Ocoee in November 1999, as an Accountant with the Finance Department. He holds a Bachelor and Master Degree in Business Administration. Ed is currently acting Chair for the General Employee Pension Board. In the past, he has dedicated his time to the City's Read to Succeed Program. Ed enjoys reading and is an avid sports fan. Ed is very proud to announce he has been married 36 years and has two (as in twin) adorable grandchildren. Along with his plaque, Ed will receive a City watch and $50.00 to Wal-Mart. SERVICE AWARD NOVEMBER 16, 2004 Presented by: Mayor S. Scott Vandergrift 5 Years Carl Curtis On November 15, 1999, Carl was hired with the City of Ocoee Fire Department as Firefighter/EMT. In 2002, Carl enrolled into the Paramedic Program which he successfully completed on September 19, 2003 and became a certified Paramedic. Carl has also qualified for the Ocoee Engineer's List. When opportunity arises, Carl enjoys camping and scuba diving, which he is a certified diver. Along with his plaque, Carl will receive a City watch and $50.00 to Best Buy. SERVICE AWARD NOVEMBER 16, 2004 Presented by: Mayor S. Scott Vandergrift 15 Years Ernest "George" Engelhardt On October 4, 1989, George was hired as Firefighter for the Ocoee Fire Department. In September 1996, he was promoted to the position of Engineer. On many occasions, George has assumed the responsibilities as Acting Lieutenant. He is a certified CPR Instructor. He teaches CPR classes to the various City Departments, Health Care Professionals and the General Public. George is currently on the promotional Lieutenants List. George recently retired from the U.S. Coast Guards, serving 20 years. He likes to scuba dive as well as woodworking. Along with his plaque, George will receive $150.00 to spend at the West Oaks Mall. SERVICE AWARD NOVEMBER 16, 2004 Presented by: Mayor S. Scott Vandergrift 5 Years Egbert Mason On October 27, 1999, Egbert began working for the City of Ocoee's Parks and Recreation Department as Custodian, in a part- time status. He is responsible and dedicated to his job at the Beech Center which makes him a valuable member of the recreation team. In his sparetime, Egbert loves gardening, planting flowers, listening to music and watching documentary programs. Along with his plaque, Egbert will receive a City watch and $50.00 gift certificate to spend at Lowe's.
