City Engineer/Utilitie 'rector SUBJECT: Water Line Oversizing ___ == As part of the development of the Shoal Creek Subdivision, we required that the developer, Titan APS, Inc., install a 12" water line through a portion of the project instead of the 8" line that the project required. This was done to provide another segment of the overall master distribution network for the water system, in accordance with the Water Master Plan. As other properties develop, this segment will eventually connect to the existing 12" line on SR 50, forming another loop in the system to enhance supply and pressure to the areas served. This segment is one that was anticipated to be built with the proceeds of the 1993 Series A bond issue. Approval of the Shoal Creek Subdivision project contained the requirement that this oversized line be installed, with the incremental cost difference between the 8" and 12" lines to be reimbursed by the City to the developer upon completion. The project is now complete and the water line has been tested and accepted. The contractor's cost difference between the 8" and 12" lines is $19,000.00.
