CITIZEN ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT Meets 3rd Thursdays, alternate months No less than 15 members, no more than 25 members - 3 year terms Duties: To promote and maintain communication, cooperation and a positive relationship between the citizens of the City of Ocoee and the Ocoee Police Department. CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD Meets 4th Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m. 7 members, 2 alternates - 3 year terms (Membership will, when practicable, include an architect, a businessman, an engineer, a general contractor, a sub-contractor and a realtor) . Duties: To review infractions of City technical codes, negotiate compliance and impose fines for failure to comply. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Meets 2nd Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m. 7 members, 2 alternates - 3 year terms (Membership will, when reasonable, include an architect, an engineer, a general building contractor, a real estate agent and lay persons) . Duties: Establishes principles and policies for guiding action affecting development in the City and its environs. Determines whether special proposed developments conform to the principles and requirements of the comprehensive plan. Acts in advisory capacity to the City Commission. RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD Meets 2nd Mondays, 7:30 p.m. 7 members - 2 year terms Duties: To advise the Mayor, Board of City Commissioners, City Manager and Recreation Director on the operation of the City's parks, recreational facilities and programs. GENERAL EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT TRUST FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES 5 members: 2 employees, 2 residents and 5th member chosen by majority of the previous 4 members. 2 year terms Duties: General administration and responsibility for the operation of the Retirement Trust Fund for general employees. Promoted to Manager of Customer Service after two years with the company. The department was responsible for editing, entering and expediting customer orders for$70,000,000 in sales. Coordinated systems requirements with MIS department and worked closely with their staff to develop programming that improved operational efficiencies. Recruited and trained full-time and temporary employees for a highly seasonal business. Staff size averaged between 15 and 25 people. The Credit& Collections Department with ten employees was added to my scope of responsibility after one year with Customer Service. This added 10 employees to supervise. This Department was responsible for approving all new accounts for open lines of credit, as well as collection of all receivables. I had full responsibility for an accounts receivable portfolio in excess of $26,000,000. A year later, responding to corporate needs, I left Customer Service, retained Credit& Collections and added the Treasury Dept. This Department was responsible for banking relations, reporting to financial backers, property damage& liability insurance and payment of commissions to sales representatives. I concentrated here on developing management reports to monitor cash flow, receivables and loan balances. Greater Orlando Area Legal Services, Inc. Orlando, Florida 1987-1989 Employed as senior fiscal officer for this non-profit organization providing legal services to the poor. Had full responsibility for the accounting system, prepared payroll and filed appropriate reports, maintained fixed asset inventory control for three offices and prepared budgets and monitored expenditures for the entire organization. Assisted in the preparation and submission of grant proposals intended to fund the program. Stevens and Layton, Inc. Fort Myers, Florida 1986-1987 Worked as office manager/controller for this large underground utility contractor. Had full responsibility for the accounting system, including contract management, submission of pay estimates, bonding, insurance administration, personnel, payroll and related tax reports, and supervision of office personnel. Redlands Christian Migrant Association,Inc. Immokalee, Florida 1980-1986 Hired as an assistant bookkeeper for this large non-profit organization which operates day care centers statewide for migrant farm worker families. The organization had a budget in excess of 8 million dollars and employed over 600 people. Promoted to personnel officer after two years.
