Lake4hore Drive Jim Beech " 4 p44 Ocoee, Florida 34761-2258 Recreation Director (407) 656-3103 FAX (407) 656-5725 MEMORANDUM To: Ellis Shapiro, City Manager From: Jim Beech, Recreation Director Date: September 21, 1994 Re: Demolition of Youth Centier As of this date I have contacted four (4) companies that do demolition of buildings. Three !of the four have been to the Youth Center site to view the building, discuss, and have stated they are willing to give a proposal for demolition of the building. Items discussed were: ( 1) Demolition of building and removal of debris. ( 2) Gracing of site and mulching with grass seed/hay . ( 3) Construction of silk screen erosion protection for water run-off . (4) Permits, licenses, and fees. From my discussion with the contractors, I believe the City can have the job done for as much as four thousand dollars ($4, 000) but not more than fifty four hundred dollars ($5400) . I might also add that one company contacted was the same that demolished the Police Station. iI would request assistance, once approval has been given, to draw up the formal bid form. CITY MANAGER ELLIS SHAPIRO MEMORANDUM TO: The Honorable Mayor and Bard of City Commissioners FROM: Ellis Shapiro, City Manager DATE: September 26, 1994 RE: RECREATION'S MOVE TO COMMUNITY CENTER If or when you authorize the demolition ofithe Youth Center, I would respectfully request that the Recreation Department be allowed to move into the Community Center as soon as possible. I am asking this so that the Community Center can be occupied and maintained as an occupied building before it is run down. Furthermore, there are many more use opportunities for the recreation program at the Community Center than at the Youth Center in the next 6 weeks or until we can demoliih the building.
