MealAIWAIIION
WHEREAS, the West Orange Grandmother's Club has served our
community since 1977; and
WHEREAS, it is affiliated with the National Federation of Grandmother's
Clubs of America; and
WHEREAS, the clubs strive to further the social and educational interests of
their members; and
WHEREAS, they promote a better understanding of the privileges and
obligations of American citizenship; and
WHEREAS, the clubs contribute to research for causes and cures of
children's diseases; and
WHEREAS, the local club works for and contributes to charitable projects
adopted by the National Conventions; and
WHEREAS, the clubs support the National Haven Building Fund, a fund to
seek cures for children with heart problems.
THEREFORE, I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, Florida,
recognizing the members of the West Orange Grandmothers' Club for the work
they do in the community, hereby proclaim that the month of October henceforth
be known in Ocoee as
GRANDMOTHERS' MONTH
and I hereby encourage our citizens to recognize their Grandmothers and
encourage them to stay active in such organizations that serve the community at
large but particularly the children's interests.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal
of the City of Ocoee, Florida to be affixed this twentieth day of September,
1994.
