CITY ENGINEER/UTILITIES DIRECTOR 150 N.LAKESHORE DRIVE•OCOEE,FLORIDA 34761 (407)656-2322 MEMORANDUM DATE: October 18, 1994 TO: Peggy Psaledakis, Personnel Director FROM: James W. Shim, P.E.A " City Engineer/Utilities Director SUBJECT: Streets and Drainage Inspector This is to request that you prepare a job description for the referenced position, based on similar positions with other governmental entities in the area. This position will be a contract position, probably for a term of twelve months, renewable by agreement of both parties. The position will be responsible for inspection of new construction of streets and associated storm drainage facilities, as well as repairs of existing streets and storm drainage facilities. In the near term, this position would be responsible for construction inspection of the extension of Clarke Road to Clarcona-Ocoee Road, Hackney-Prairie Road from Clarke Road to Apopka- Vineland Road, Maguire Road south of S.R. 50, and the intersections of Kissimmee Avenue and Story Road and Maguire Road and Marshall Farms Road. As we begin to construct capiatal improvements resulting from the various storm drainage basin studies, this position will be responsible for inspection of the work involved. At present, the city does not have an inspector assigned specifically to inspect construction, maintenance and repair of streets or drainage facilities. With the amount of new construction we are, and will continue to be experiencing, it is critical that we have an experienced inspector for these elements of our infrastructure. We have recently suffered several major repairs to streets and drainage facilities, which may have been prevented if there had been more intensive inspection of the work as it was being constructed. I will be expecting to hire a person with a substantial amount of experience with either a state or county D.O.T., or as a streets and drainage inspector for a county or municipality. we6oWocx NsrscnAroci94 THE PRIDE OF WEST ORANGE RESOLUTION NO. 94-30 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, AMENDING EXHIBIT "A" OF RESOLUTION NO. 91-10 ADOPTING AND APPROVING JOB DESCRIPTIONS SETTING FORTH THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS BY ADDING A JOB DESCRIPTION SETTING FORTH THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYMENT POSITION FOR A STREETS AND DRAINAGE INSPECTOR;PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
