Bennett Background Summary: This was an issue that was heard before the Code Enforcement Board on two separate violations; 1) Skirting needs to be replaced; 2) For overgrown grass & weeds. It was brought into compliance on June 6, 1997. Subsequently, fines were established which accrued to approximately $1850.00. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission consider a reduction of fines and release of lien on Code Enforcement Board Case No.97-0l5, Marion A. Bennett, property located at 34 Coquina Key Drive Ocoee, Florida? Recommendations It is Staff's recommendation that the City Commission approve the recommendation of the Code Enforcement Board and reduce the fme to $250.00. Phelps, Building Official DATE: February 7, 2005 RE: Request For Reduction of Fine Code Enforcement Board Case No. 97-015, Marion A. Bennett ISSUE Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission consider a reduction of fines and release of lien on Code Enforcement Board Case No.97-015, Marion A. Bennett, property located at 34 Coquina Key Drive Ocoee, Florida? BACKGROUNDIDISCUSSION This was an issue that was heard before the Code Enforcement Board on two separate violations; 1) Skirting needs to be replaced; 2) For overgrown grass & weeds. The Respondent was found to be in violation on both counts and was provided with time to bring the property into compliance. It was not brought into compliance within the set period of time. It was brought into compliance on June 6, 1997. Subsequently, fines were established which accrued to approximately $1850.00. The Respondent has requested consideration and a reduction of fine. At the January 21, 2005, Code Enforcement Board Meeting, the Respondent appeared before the Board and it was determined by the Board that the fine should be reduced to $250.00. RECOMMENDATION It is Staff's recommendation that the City Commission approve the recommendation of the Code Enforcement Board and reduce the fine to $250.00.
