Background Summary:
The Code Enforcement Board was created by Ordinance No. 741 on June 16,1981. The purpose of this board is
to review infractions of the City Codes, negotiate compliance, and impose fine for failure to comply.
The board consists of seven (7) regular members and two (2) alternate members.
Ronald Strosnider declined appointment as a regular member on the Code Enforcement Board as he is moving
out of state.
Alternate Member Lenko (attended 2 out of 6 meetings, tardy x1 meeting, since being moved to an alternate board
member in June of 2005) (District 4), and Alternate Member Ballard (attended 0 out of 1 meeting since being
appointed in November of 2005) (District 2) have indicated interest in serving as a regular member on the Code
Enforcement Board.
Applicant, Mike Godek (District 1) has indicated interest in serving as a regular member on the Code Enforcement
Board. There are currently no board members representing District 1.
Issue:
Should Alternate Member Lenko (District 4), Alternate Member Ballard (District 2), or applicant Mike Godek
(District 1) be appointed as a regular member to the Code Enforcement Board for a term ending June 2008?
Recommendations
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners appoint one of the following to a regular
member status for a term ending June 2008:
Alternate Member Lenko (District 4)
Alternate Member Ballard (District 2)

I feel my experience both in the Construction Management and General Contracting fields brings
the desired qualifications to the table. I have extensive experience in the education market as
well as multi-uSet. retail and industrial. I have included. for your review, a list of construction
projects that areA were under my direct supervision during my career with my resume.
In addition, in February of 2004, I passed the Construction Industry Licensing Board e)(aminations
for General Conhctors in the Slate of Florida.
I am involved in />lanning, budgeting, estimating. bidding, recommending awards. construction,
and final occupahcy upon completion. I am well versed in building codes, plumbing codes, and
National Electric ICodes due to my involvement with various architectural firms, engineering firms,
and dients during the design stages of the projects.
I have a vast knowledge of AlA documents. General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and
front-end documents. as t am responsible for authoring the front-end contract documents through
Division 1 - Gen~ral Requirements, developing project scopes, administrating the bidding
process, contractor prequalification and solicitation, and awarding contracts. I am also
responsible for r-toject documentation such as: meeting minutes; change orders; field directives;
document clarifiqation: punch rlSts; schedule updates; requests for proposal; requests for
information; and ~ost reporting.
