Ji JANUARY 10,1995 TO: MR. JIM BEECH FROM: JOHN BOSTON RE: RESIGNATION FROM CITY OF OCCOE RECREATION BOARD I WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT MY RESIGNATION FROM THE CITY OF OCOEE RECREATION BOARD. I HAVE MOVED TO THE CITY OF WINTER GARDEN. I WOULD LIKE THIS RESIGNATION TO TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY. j '4 January 26, 1995 —Er 13',' 7\ 77) Mr. Jim Beech / 3 0 f Director Parks and Recreation City of Ocoee 150 N. Lakeshore Dr. Ocoee, Fl. , 34761 Dear Mr. Beech: After serving for about two years as a volunteer member of the Parks and Recreation Committee, it is with regret that I must resign from my post. Unfortunately, my business hours conflict with the meeting times. It has been a pleasure to be of service to this fast growing city I call home, and I thank you and the City for that opportunity. I do want to express that although I am "retiring" from this position, that I do wish to continue to be involved in some capacity, and perhaps again in the near future on a more committed basis. As usual, I look forward to remaining in contact with you and the Mayor and commissioners . I do want to take this last opportunity to make a request to not forget the cyclists, joggers and other sports minded individuals like myself. As the city continues to grow our roads without a bike path become dangerous lanes. Perhaps the developers (of for example: all the new shopping centers) can be held responsible for paying for bike paths. Our ability to walk, bicycle and move about without a car is a last hope to continuing the "small town feeling" and friendliness that so attracted me to the area. Lets preserve this for all of us, and the generations to come. The Rails to Trails program is an excellent idea, but not practical if you want to get on your bike to get some groceries, go shopping or if you are a kid, go to your friend's house or get to school. If you ever see a lone rider, be sure to wave and say hello, or stop by Starke Lake as I take a break relaxing by the cool waters, and chat with me for a while. Many thanks. Sincerely, Ileana Tripp, M.S. cc: The Honorable Mayor, Scott Vandergrift ham RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD Created by Ordinance No. 908, 9-02-86/Amended by Ordinance No. 937, 3-17-87 Member District Phone Number Term Expires Carolyn Alexander (Secty) 1 656-4237 (H) April, 1995 1412 Kirby Street 239-3907 (W) Ocoee, FL 34761 Gordon Applegate 2 656-7409(H) October, 1996 504 Spring Creek Drive Ocoee, FL 34761 John Boston (Resigned) 4 299-4092 (H) October, 1996 514 Shumard Oaks Court Ocoee, FL 34761 William Chambers (Chmn) 3 656-9841 (H) October, 1996 314 E.
