Dear Mayor:
I am writing to you regarding an incidence of heroism that took place at our hotel on July 2, 1995. A
young boy bad an asthma attack while swimming-he went under water and was pulled out of the pool by
an adult swimmer. At that time they alerted my front desk staff to call 911.
Brenda Sharp,a front desk employee, then took it on herself to tend to the boy. She immediately rushed
to the boy and took control of the situation. She performed CPR on the boy and bad him breathing and
conscious within minutes. She continued to comfort the child until the paramedics arrived.
I would like to know if the city of Ocoee gives some type of recognition to individuals such as Brenda for
her unselfish act of saving a child's life. Brenda is an excellent employee and a citizen of Ocoee.
