Proclamation
WHEREAS, the next Census of Population and Housing will be taken on April 1,2000 and
political representation to the United States House of Representatives, state
legislatures and local governments is determined by the Decennial Census, and
the City of Ocoee recognizes the equal importance of each resident in the 2000
census count; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee recognizes and supports the Complete Count Committee's
efforts in planning and implementing a locally-based promotion campaign to
publicize the importance of Census 2000; and,
WHEREAS, it shall be the goal of the City of Ocoee and the Complete Count Committee to
make everyone in Ocoee aware of Census 2000 and to motivate the entire
community to participate by filling out the census form and returning it
immediately.
Now, Therefore, I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, do hereby urge
full support and participation in the overwhelming success of Census 2000, and urge every
person in the City of Ocoee to be counted by answering the Census on April 1, 2000.
