MEMORANDUM
TO: The Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners

RE: ONE CENT SALES TAX
For the last several months the cities and Orange County have attempted to
coordinate a list of projects for each jurisdiction that might be funded by a one
cent increase in sales tax.
It has been determined that if a 15 year program was established, our minimum
revenue projected for the City of Ocoee would be at least $46 million over that
time period. This figure does not consider the great deal of growth that we
anticipate in the next 15 years within the City of Ocoee or the periodic
adjustment of the proposed tax revenue due to that growth.
Attached is a recommended list of sales tax projects proposed by the City Staff
utilizing that we believe to be the approximate sales tax revenues for that 15 year
period. The City Commission, upon their review and discussion, can either
modify, add or delete projects from this list.
