RE: CHRISTIAN SERVICE CENTER/WEST ORANGE LIFE CENTER
On February 21, 1997, the attached letter from the Christian Service Center for
Central Florida, Inc. was faxed to me requesting that the City of Ocoee build the
required sidewalk in front of the new West Orange Life Center currently under
construction.
Mr. David Wheeler, P.E., estimated the cost of the sidewalk to be $3,300.
While we would like to help, the construction of this sidewalk with public funds,
while under development, would set a precedent for the City that you may wish
not to start. In essence, the City has not done this in the past for any other
church or non-profit corporation to my knowledge.
The representatives from the Christian Service Center for Central Florida, Inc.
shall be at your March 18, 1997 meeting to request this in person. If you decide
to do so, funds will have to be taken from the General Fund Contingency budget,
which currently has a sum of$50,955.

You ask me to look into the amount of sidewalk which the Christian Service Center was installing
and to estimate a price for the sidewlk, should the City chose to install the sidewalk
There is approximately 290 linear feet of 5 foot wide sidewalk to be installed in three sections.
This equates to approximately 1500 square feet or 167 square yards.
The bid price for 4 foot wide -4" thick sidewalk on the White Road project was $19.62 per
square yard. This is for non-traffic bearing sidewalk.
Therefore, the cost to install 167 square yards of 5 foot wide -4" thick sidewalk would be
approximately $3,300.

Dear Ellis,
On behalf of the Christian Service Center and our clients, thank you for your support. We have
accomplished so much in the West Orange Community and City of Ocoee has been an integral part
of this effort...thank you.
This letter is a special request to ask the City of Ocoee to complete the building of the designated
sideway of our new West Change LIFE Center. This sideway, as required by your zoning
department,is to be constructed so that the sidewalks will be connected between our adjacent
properties. Your investment into completing this portion of our project will save thousands of
dollars and allow us to allocate them toward other vital parts of our building program or directly to
program services,if available.
As always, I look forward to hosting you on a special tour of the LIFE Center. We have had
such wonderful interest from the community and, as expected, anxiously await when we will
occupy this "new"location.
