The bids were advertised on December 20, 1998 for B99-03; Airshore Rescue Starter Set: Building, and were publicly opened on January 21, 1999. Responses were received from: I) Ten-8 Firc Equipment, Inc. - $14,925.00 (less a discount of$1,747.39)_$13,177.61. 2) Cathcart Contracting -No Bid. The bids were reviewed by the Fire and Finance Departments. Staff recommends awarding this bid to Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc., per the attached memo from Ron Strosnider, Fire Chief. RECOMMENDATION It respectfully is recommended that the City Commission award Bid #99-03 to Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. and authorize staff to proceed with the acquisition of this equipment. Strosnider, Fire Chief Date: January 25, 1999 Re: BID #99-03 AIRSHORE RESCUE EQUIPMENT The Ocoee Fire Department requests to purchase a complete set of Airshore rescue equipment to be placed into service on the newly purchased heavy rescue truck. The equipment consists of pneumatic struts and the associated hardware for bracing unstable structural components to effect a rescue of a trapped individual. The equipment will be used for rescue work for trapped and entangled victims in building collapse, vehicle accidents and construction mishaps. The Ocoee Fire Department recommends that bid # 99-03, from Ten-8 Fire Equipment Company for $13,177.61 be accepted, and the Airshore rescue equipment be purchased using Fire Department Impact Fee funds allotted for equipment purchase for the new rescue truck.
