SUBJECT: CITY GRANT PROGRAM
As you can see by the November 7, 2000 agenda, there is a request from a Ms.
Carrington for tuition for a Presidential Inaugural Program in the amount of $1,000.00.
I am writing this memo to get a confirmation regarding the discussion that the City
Commission had during the budget process that reduced your grant funds by
$10,000.00 and included a policy that seemed to imply that funds would no longer be
considered for grants to individuals seeking assistance from the City.
Also, staff is requesting that the City Commission change the attached Grant
Application time period from one (1) to two (2) weeks so that we can make sure that all
the questions normally asked by the City Commission be answered in a timely manner.

If funding is granted, the organization certifies that the funds will be used as requested. A written

NOTE: Grant Applications are included in the Agenda for City Commission Meetings, which
are held the first and third Tuesday of every month. To be placed on an Agenda, your grant
application must be received a minimum of one week before the scheduled Commission
