RE: Street Resurfacing in Silver Glen
ISSUE:
Should the Mayor and Board of City Commissioners authorize fund reprogramming and
award of Silver Glen street resurfacing to Pavex Corporation?
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
This year's budget and CIP funded and authorized the resurfacing of streets in the
Silver Glen area. The increase in cost of petroleum based productshas caused the
cost of this project to exceed the authorized funding of$53,500, by approximately
$5,700. The following funds may be reprogrammed to fund this project:
1. Reprogram $3,367, remaining in sidewalk construction account,
001-541-20-6303, as all authorized new sidewalk projects have
been completed.
2. Reprogram $3,000, from road repairs operational account, -
001-541-20-5313.
This reprogramming will provide an additional $6,367, to fund this project. The
attached project price quote from Pavex Corp. for$59,109.85, is in accordance with
their current contract with Orange County Public Works for street resurfacing. Per the
attached quote, Pavex has agreed to honor their Orange County street resurfacing
contract price and allow the City to piggyback on this contract.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff respectfully requests the Mayor and Board of City Commissioners to authorize the
above listed fund reprogramming and award of the Silver Glen street resurfacing project
to Pavex Corporation. .
